Pocket Park 1 Overview

Just a few miles past Galveston's Seawall, the West End is a great spot for relaxing on the sand or playing in the water. Put your lounge chair right at the water's edge and savor the feeling of the waves lapping at your feet, while you enjoy a cold drink (no glass please, but cans are okay). Your furry family members are welcome too, but they must be on a leash.

Amenities

One of the reasons why so many people choose Pocket Park 1 is that you can drive right onto the sand and park near the ocean. For those looking for a less crowded place to soak up the sun, head past the vehicle barricades.

Portable restrooms are available from mid-March through Labor Day.

Hours

• Monday - Friday from 8AM to 7PM
• Saturday - Sunday from 8AM to 7PM
• Open 7 days a week throughout Spring Break, and from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Admission

• On-beach parking is available – you can pull up your car to the shoreline and park on the sand.
• Vehicle entry fee from Memorial Day through Labor Day: Monday - Friday: $12 per vehicle
• Saturday - Sunday: $15 per vehicle
• Special events and holidays: $15 per vehicle.
• Annual Season Pass available for $50

Park Rules

• Overnight parking or camping is not permitted
• Open fires, campfires, and fire pits are prohibited (BBQ pits allowed)
• No littering
• No glass
• Stay off the dunes
• Pets must be on a leash at all times; clean up after your pets
• Obey all city ordinances and park rules
