What to Expect

Galveston Local Days are back! From May 5–10, in celebration of National Travel and Tourism Week, Galveston residents are invited to experience the island like a visitor with free or BOGO admission to participating attractions.

This week is about more than fun—it’s a reminder of how tourism supports our community. Local Days are a chance to reconnect with the places that bring travelers to our shores, show support for the businesses that fuel our economy, and rediscover what makes Galveston so special.

Here’s what to expect:

Perks and experiences available exclusively during Local Days

Note: Bring a valid ID or proof of residency to participate.

This week is for you, Galveston. Explore the full list of offers and show some love to the attractions that make our island home so special.

Free Admission Offers

Offer: Exhibit in the carriage house of the 1859 Ashton Villa is FREE on Friday and Saturday during Local Days to Galveston residents.

Offer: [Always] FREE admission plus Galveston residents can provide their address and get a special discount code.

With the discount code, they will have the ability to register for any active classes and workshops and receive the GAC-member discount.

The discount code and registration will be available all week.

Local Days will culminate with May ArtWalk. GAC will host a mini locals market from 4 to 9 PM for ArtWalk.

Offer: FREE parking and admission on Monday, Wednesday, Friday (5th, 7th and 9th), 10AM - 4PM.
There will be prizes (while they last) for visitors who play the new, free scavenger hunt game using their cell phone.
