Waves of Impact is sponsoring a free surf camp for children with special challenges on the beach in Galveston on September 20th and 21st. The camps will run from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day. All equipment will be provided; however, if your child has a wetsuit or life jacket, please bring it.
The camp will be held at Porretto Beach, located at 10th St & Seawall, on the sand. Porretto Beach has been a privately owned beach in Galveston, Texas, for more than 70 years and offers parking, chairs and umbrellas, and a reserved space for the children to surf safely.
Space is limited, and each special surfer will need a ticket (free). Please select only one day to allow more children the opportunity to participate. Efforts will be made to accommodate siblings at the camp, but with limited space, the situation will be assessed at the event.
Each surfer will be assigned a surf time and will receive additional information about the event during the week of the camp.
If there are two children in the family who are special surfers, please sign up for two tickets. Please refrain from signing up for multiple days, as this reduces space for other campers.
A parent or legal guardian must register and be present at the surf camp with their child.
