Texas History 101: Road To The Revolution

Brush up on your Texas history in this new program from The Bryan Museum.

Texas History 101 is a lecture series designed to further your understanding of Texas history as the Museum’s history specialist, Amelia White, takes you on an in-depth look at topics in Texas history.

Texas History 101 will kick off this fall with a three-part series that takes you inside the Texas Revolution. This introductory lecture will explore how things in Texas got to the point of rebellion. We will talk about the impact of events such as the imprisonment of Stephen F. Austin, the Law of April 6, 1830, and the Anahuac Disturbances.

Meet historical figures on both sides of the conflict, including Antonio López de Santa Anna, William Barrett Travis, and Erasmo Seguín, as we set the stage for the Texas Revolution.
