League City based visual artist Sara Nygard merges realism with ethereal atmosphere in her depictions of Galveston, Texas and the American West.
Her vividly colored portraits and sceneries from Texas and beyond include pastel toned longhorns, pink carousel horses and diverse landscapes, all infused in an otherworldly aura. This juxtaposition creates a compelling contrast between the tangible and the fantastical, between ordinary life and fairytale.
Originally from Finland, where she earned her degrees in Fine Art and Economics in the 90’s, Sara is currently living in League City since 2018. She is a member of Cowgirl Artists of America. She has participated in juried shows in Texas, South Carolina and Montana.
The Galveston Art League is a non-profit all volunteer run organization since its founding in 1914. Support Local Artists and come-out and view the show Oct 3-27. Hours Thursday-Sunday 12-6 PM.
