Stemming from a desire for locals and their pets to have a way to be involved in the Mardi Gras! Galveston festivities, The Galveston Island Humane Society created the Krewe of Barkus and Meoux Parade in 1998, and this crowd-pleasing event has been going strong ever since!
The festivities will kick off with our Costume Contest Judging will start at 12:30 at Pier 21. The winners will get to participate as one of the lead elements in the parade as well as receiving their award. Make sure to come dressed to impress!
