The Mansard House
The Mansard House
Where Restored History Meets Relaxed Island Luxury
Originally built in 1912 as the Smith/Perry Boarding House, this historic Galveston property has been thoughtfully reimagined into a 12-room boutique hotel known as The Mansard House—named for its iconic architectural style. Brought back to life by Save 1900 for the hit show Restoring Galveston – The Inn, the transformation blends early 20th-century character with modern coastal comfort.
Each guest room has been fully renovated and curated with handpicked design, modern amenities, and subtle nods to the building’s past—including vintage clippings and historic photographs that tell the story of its time as a bustling boarding house.
