There is limited free parking if you meet one of the below qualifications:
- City of Galveston Island Residents
- Must provide proof of residency
- Example: Government-issued ID with address, utility bill with address, or valid boat registration
- Must provide proof of residency
- With a fishing band purchase.
- Vehicles with valid placards or plates displaying the International Symbol of Access.

- New Daily Fishing Bands Must be Purchased by 6AM When Fishing Overnight (Permitted seasonally)
- The use of drones or radio mechanically operated devices in the beach parks or at the Beaches is strictly prohibited at all times; with the exception of The Park Board of Trustees and The City of Galveston.
- Fishing Pier: Capacity on the pier may be limited or reduced at any time by park management or law enforcement to maintain safety.

Leave No Trace
To protect wildlife and to keep our beaches clean, the "Leave No Trace" ordinance is strictly enforced from Spring Break until Labor Day.
- The Leave No Trace ordinance (N. 19-017 Sec. 8-27) prohibits leaving items such as canopies and miscellaneous beach gear unattended between the hours of sunset and sunrise.

As you round the corner of Seawolf Parkway, you're greeted by the open ocean, smells of salt water and WWII destroyer escort, the USS Stewart. Venturing through the gate and further into the park, you’ll notice more of what nature has to offer along with expansive views. Palm trees tower throughout the park and pelicans perch themselves on the pier, inviting fishermen to try their luck with the variety of fish lurking in the waters below.
As you explore more of the park, it's rich history can be seen all around you with the Galveston Naval Museum, SS Selma, immigration station markers, and views of the U.S. Coast Guard.

Galveston Naval Museum
Right as you enter the park, visitors are met by the Galveston Naval Museum where you can witness two historic wartime vessels first-hand and up close. Tour a World War II era US Submarine and Destroyer Escort explore a memorial and park. Experience history aboard the USS Cavalla, the World War II submarine that sank one of Japanese aircraft carriers responsible for bombing Pearl Harbor; and the USS Stewart, the only Edsall-class destroyer escort preserved in the United States.
