The Galveston Lifeguarding Association is the Galveston Chapter of the Gulf Coast Region of the United States Lifesaving Association www.usla.org. Our mission is to promote water safety throughout our region, specifically beach and ocean safety. Galveston Lifeguarding Inc., is a 501-c3 nonprofit organization that supports the efforts of the Galveston Island Beach Patrol, particularly in the areas of water safety education, competition, outreach, and scholarships.
The Galveston Lifeguarding Association is proud to support and encourage Galveston Island Beach Patrol staff members to pursue higher education. Each year, GLA awards at least one $500 scholarship for a Galveston Island Beach Patrol Lifeguard working at any stage on their higher education.
