Visit Galveston is the official destination marketing organization for Galveston Island, Texas - accredited by Destinations International.
Visit Galveston is a non-profit government agency tasked with marketing Galveston as a preferred vacation and meeting destination.
In September 2021, we decided to sunset the name “Galveston Island Convention and Visitors Bureau” and welcomed aboard a new moniker – Visit Galveston. The new name helps amplify our mission to bring visitors to Galveston and helps communicate the organization’s purpose. And it’s more in line with our brand, It’s Island Time, which is all about relaxing and leaving stress on the mainland.
Visit Galveston works to promote tourism within the leisure, group travel, and meetings and conventions markets. We are a division of the Galveston Park Board and funded solely by visitor-generated Hotel Occupancy Tax funds. Our team works with guidance from the citizen-led Tourism Development Advisory Committee, which has members who are professionals in tourism, outdoor recreation, and arts and culture.
Visit Galveston is globally recognized by the Destination Marketing Accreditation Program (DMAP). Achieving DMAP accreditation positions Visit Galveston as a valued and respected organization within the community and increases credibility among stakeholders. To become accredited, a destination organization must demonstrate compliance with more than 100 performance standards.
